Hi I’m Ross
A Photographer & Video-Maker from Northern IrelandAfter studying ‘Cinema & Photography’ at University, I moved home to pursue my passion of bringing stories to life. Now 10+ years on I’m more passionate than ever about the power both moving and still images have to tell stories, capture those around me, and understand the world.
Another passion of mine is helping other photographers and so over the last few years I have been sharing my knowledge and providing people with tools to progress their own creative journey.

LUTs & LUMIX ‘looks’
Check out some recent LUTs & LUMIX ‘looks’ I’ve created and try them out for yourself…
Porcelain Portra is a warm, sharp, film-like ‘look’ designed for portraits. Just like film, feed it lots of light and it will thank you. Think Kodak Portra, but a digital version…
A warm, bold, bright and summery ‘look’ based on the very first LUT I ever created, Summer. This one reminds me of cheap Kodak film, it’s grainy and captures images that are sure to POP!
This new ‘look’ combines Daisy & Ontario with an WB shift to capture JPEGs that are soft and warm, with overall minty green hue. It’s flexible, versatile and full of personality…
If you are offended by strong, vibrant, bold, popping colours, maybe skip this one. But if you’re excited by a ‘look’ that’s a little more ‘out-there’… my Lucky Color 200 is for you!
I had a hunch that combining Mara & Daisy would do something special, and I wasn’t disappointed. Introducing Portramax 400, an all-round, film-like ‘look’ for shooting LUMIX JPEGs…
Fujifilm Pro 400H is an iconic film stock, known for its soft and pastel colour palette with an emphasis on greens and magentas. Check out my LUMIX version here…
Lomography Color Negative 100 is a film stock that’s super punchy and super vibrant so if you aren’t afraid of colour this one is definitely for you!
Neocros R100 has become by absolute go-to black and white ‘look’. It’s deep, sharp, flexible and I think has a really beautiful tone…
Out of my twin Portra-inspired LUTs, Maku is the punchier of the two. It has a stronger saturation and curve overall with rich vibrant hues and blues leaning pale teal…
With blacks and whites faded to grey, a unique contrast in the mid tones and combined with L.Monochrome D… my newest LUT Orlock is truly special…
A bright, warm, saturated ‘look’ with a lovely overall pastel Kodak palette. Will work in a wide range of situations but is perfect for anything with bold bright colours…
Kodak Gold 200 is one of Kodak’s cheapest film stocks, which means it is one of their most used, well-loved and well-known too… so I wanted to get this ‘look’ right!
London Superia 200H is reminiscent of some classic Fujicolor film stocks. It’s a subtle, flexible ‘look’ with a focus on greens/magentas but still has a nice warmth for balance…
Sitting somewhere between Kodak’s Gold 200 & 50D is Malin Gold 50N. If you’re looking for a flexible, subtle and warm ‘look’ for your JPEGs give this one try…
This is the first of my subtle, flexible, every-day ‘looks’. Expect warm, brown, Kodak-like tones in your LUMIX images shot with Alfama 250B…
This LUMIX ‘look’ has been inspired by one of my favourite film stocks . The unique, dynamic, complicated but beautiful CineStill 400D. Check it out…
I’m really pleased with this new CineStill 50D ‘look’.. I love the muted colours and soft contrast of this film stock and having a LUMIX ‘look’ that matches that, is a lot of fun to shoot with…
A couple of years ago Lomography released LomoChrome Color ’92 and being born in 1992 myself, I was instantly intrigued. Check out my LUMIX ‘look’ inspired by this film stock here…
No matter what you call it (Kodacolor 200 or ColorPlus), I absolutely love the look of this film. It’s punchy, vibrant, warm and great for everyday use…
Inspired by a colour negative film praised for its retro charm, my 1992 LUT will give an overall cool look with a particular focus on blues and magentas…
Inspired by an experimental colour negative film, my Firebird LUT has buckets of contrast, intense fiery reds and greens that explode…
Deep deep shadows but soft soft highlights. This is a really fun ‘look’ to shoot with and uses my Ash LUT and a Photo Style of L.Monochrome as its base…
In my experience Kodak Aerocolor IV has a combination of dark greens and toasty warm tones. These are the colours that have inspired this LUMIX look…
Kodak’s Portra 800 is one of the prettiest and most well loved film stocks out there. This is my LUMIX version. I love it, I hope you will too…
The first 35mm stock I ever shot with was Fujicolor C200. It’s was a low cost film with classic Fuji colours. Here’s my LUMIX version…
A second version of my HP5 Plus 400 LUMIX ‘look’. This one is pushed which means more contrast and chunkier grain…
A LUMIX ‘look’ inspired by Ilford HP5 Plus 400. Just like the beloved film stock, only a lot cheaper…
My favourite in the Head-Stock series is Daisy. It’s full of character with delicious pastel colours and it’s somehow both warm and cool at the same time…
Ash has a base Photo Style of L.Monochrome D which itself was inspired by film with deep blacks and vibrant whites and Ash only adds to the vibe…
Fujifilm Recipes
Check out some of my most popular Fujifilm recipes and load them in for your own JPEGs…
Let me introduce you to ‘Oxygen Mono’. The aim for this recipe was to create a super flexible b&w recipe that works in pretty much every scenario you throw at it…
‘Fruit Pastel’ harnesses the vividness of Velvia, throws in a bunch of grain but at the same time lifts the shadows and the result is a light, sweet, fruit coloured, sugar covered recipe with a nice overall pastel tone…
’Contrast Chrome’ is contrasty (obviously) with a Weak/Large Grain and medium Sharpness, medium Colour, Auto WB (with a R4 B-4 shift)…
An Astia recipe for every day use. Because Astia is a little bluer and more saturated than Provia, I decided for this recipe to shift the White Balance quite heavily to the warmer side…
When underexposed this recipe shows a lovely dark grey tone which reminded me of slate and the Large/Strong Grain in the recipe made me think of grains of salt…
A lovely Classic Chrome based recipe I created to replicated the look of Lomography COlor Negative 800 shot with m Yashica Electro 35 GTN …
I enjoyed the results from this film stock so much that I just had to create my own Ilford XP2 Super 400 Fujifilm recipe…
‘Nurture Nature’ is definitely one of my best all-round recipes to date. It has been designed to work in almost every environment and lighting situation however it definitely shines outside.…
‘Rust Roamer’ was born out of a desire to create a Classic Negative based recipe for everyday use, kind of like a Classic Negative version of my recipe ‘Crisp Chrome’.…
I came up with ‘Peach Fade’ to capture that pinky, dreamy, pastel look found at sunrise/sunset - even when it wasn’t there in the first place…
The way I describe ‘Crisp Chrome’ to people is that it’s like ‘Soft Chrome’ on steroids. It’s punchy and full of life - a great one for every day use…
Ross’s Blog
My blog is full of ideas, advice, experiences, thoughts etc. Check out some of my posts below…
I have to admit… my initial experience shooting square was a struggle. I guess I’ve trained my eye on 3:2 but shooting 1:1, I felt boxed in, like there was no room for context…
This was a really fun and I think successful challenge. It took a while to get used to shooting with such a wide lens and short aspect ratio, but 65:24 made me look at the world completely differently…
The new LUMIX S 20mm f2.5 lens is here! It’s small (like tiny), wide, bright… but is it worth the price tag? Find out some of my thoughts, plus some pros/cons of this new LUMIX lens in this post…
Finally LUMIX got around to releasing a small native prime lens for their full-frame cameras and honestly, it was well worth the wait. How does it compare to the competition? Well read this post to hear my thoughts…
I love helping people (especially other photographers) so I’ve put together an honest list of genuine camera accessory recommendations for anyone out there who might find them useful…
I asked the LUMIX Community on Reddit to choose two LUMIX cameras to shoot with for life. What camera got the most votes The results are in…
This post is for anyone who wants to get their LUMIX camera set up and ready for the best JPEG shooting experience. Have a read through my list of tips, advice and recommendations…
Recently I’ve been branching out past what Fujifilm cameras are capable of and feeling a little restricted any time I use one. I have finally decided the time has come to send Fujifilm to the bench…
Something I get asked pretty much daily over on Instagram is for recipe recommendations, so I thought I would put together a list of my three ‘Greatest of All Time’ recipes for you all to try…
In 2025 I worked on a project called 'RALLIES' with fellow Northern Irish artist Neil Gillespie. The result of this project was a show featuring seven final pieces, combining our two practises - photography and painting…
What better way to kick off 2026 than continuing my tradition of charging up my batteries and taking out the original Fujifilm X100 for a photo walk? But this year there’s a twist…
Recently a friend asked me what some of my “Most Popular” Fujifilm recipes were, so I dipped into the back end of my website to see the numbers and the results really surprised me...
On the 6th November 2025 LUMIX had me over to London for the first ever LUMIX Live event there. Find out some of what the event had in store and keep an eye out for tickets to the next one…
“The colours from this sensor can’t be much different”… Turns out, they are! My V-Log footage from the S1II converted with the S5IIX & S9 BaseLUTs looked, well, wrong….
Have you ever wanted to test out some of the LUTs featured on the LUMIX Lab App but just couldn’t be bothered? I’ve got you! In this post I take a bunch of LUTs from other LUMIX Creators and give them a spin with example images and some thoughts… so you don’t have to…
When you load these LUTs into your LUMIX camera, not only can you access the colours usually reserved for Fujifilm users, but you can also unlock every single Fujifilm Recipe ever made…
If you haven’t tried shooting LUTs with a LUMIX camera yet, I couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s just about as much fun as you can have with photography. By skipping the editing process, my LUT loaded LUMIX camera saves me so much time and energy, which can be put back into shooting and capturing more of my life and the people around me…
If you’re nervous to make the jump to shooting JPEGs with your camera, now you don’t have to be. LUMIX has provided this simple and effective back-up/safety feature that allows you to get the exact look you were going for, even if you don’t nail it the first time…
Earlier this year I got invited by Matthew Dangyou for a chat on the ‘LUMIX Creators Podcast’. Have a listen to our conversation covering how I got into photography, my camera history, designing Fujifilm & LUTs, my intro to LUMIX, some setting advice for shooting JPEGs with LUTs, and lots more goodness…
I made a Reddit account recently and one comment about the S9 that keeps popping up is that there are no compact lens options for this camera. I took this opinion as a bit of a challenge and decided to go on the hunt to find the best, most compact lens setup for my full-frame LUMIX S9 - so let’s talk lenses…
Each day I was exploring the Ards Peninsula, I was super focused and present on what was in front of me. Shooting the project on 35mm film made me really decisive with my photographs and whether each scene ‘deserved’ to be captured or not…
Something I get asked a LOT over on Instagramis for recipe recommendations. So I thought it would be a good idea to write this post and feature ‘My Five Favourite Fujifilm Recipes’…
Something I have been experimenting with (and also got quite addicted to) is buying vintage photography lenses off eBay, finding an adapter, and attaching them to my digital camera body…
The Yashica Electro 35 GTN is quite a big camera in comparison to other rangefinders. It’s also on the cheaper side which is a plus. They can be really unreliable (like all film cameras) but if you get a good one like I did, you’re in for a treat…
Name another full-frame camera, under £1000, that you can load your own LUTs into, that’s small, lightweight, can shoot LOG, 6K Open Gate, with great Image Stabilisation, battery life and overall bangin’ quality…
Now that it’s 14+ years since the 12MP original X100 was released, one question lingers in my head. Will I ever upgrade my original Fujifilm X100 to one of the newer models???

Out of my twin Portra-inspired LUTs, Mara is the slightly more subtle of the two. It has less saturation and contrast, but it is more adventurous in tone with softer yellows and deeper greens…
