Lomography Color Negative 100

Lomography Color Negative 100 was the inspiration behind this LUMIX ‘look’. If you don’t already know, it’s a film stock that’s super punchy and super vibrant so if you aren’t afraid of colour… this one is for you! Check out some examples in these images before reading on about this ‘look’ below…

To create this look I studied a lot of Lomography Color Negative 100 film scans and I chose to start creating my version focusing on the colours. After a lot of testing and tweaking, I arrived at a combination of my LUTs Earth set to LUT Opacity 80% and Bonboa set to LUT Opacity 20%. Download these two LUTs for yourself using the buttons below…

To match the characteristics of this film I’ve set my Grain and i.Dynamic to LOW and my Sharpness to -4. Lomography Color Negative 100 is balanced for daylight but for this ‘look’ I’ve decided to set my White Balance to Auto (with a small push to the amber side) just for flexibility. The Photo Style I’ve chosen is Standard which provides a good starting point for the tone of this ‘look’ however I’ve nudged up the Contrast and Saturation a bit to push it closer to the vivid, punchiness this film stock is known for.

Something a lot of people like to do when shooting Lomography 100 is overexpose with it to make the colours more pastel-like and the same thing is possible with this ‘look’ I’ve created. You can definitely overexpose with it and still get usable images as I’ve protected  the Highlights with a setting of -2 and turned on i.Dynamic Range.

I’m so pleased with how this new ‘look’ has turned out and I’ve been using it loads over the last few months. It’s super colourful, vibrant, vivid, punchy and a real treat for capturing summer. Check out all the settings below you’ll need to plug this ‘look’ into your own LUMIX camera.
