Lucky Color 200
If you are offended by strong, vivid, vibrant, punchy, bold, popping, wacky colours… this one is not for you! If you’re excited by a ‘look’ for your LUMIX JPEGs that’s a little more ‘out-there’, then steam on ahead!
I’m gassed to be able to share with you all this new ‘look’ I’ve made inspired by the Chinese film stock Lucky Color 200. It’s actually one I designed about 8 months ago and never got round to sharing, so it’s great finally to be putting it out there with the others for other LUMIX users to have fun with. Check out some examples below shot with a mix of LUMIX cameras and lenses…
Ever since first setting eyes on scans this film, I felt like I knew exactly which two of my LUTs I could combine to create this ‘look’. By mixing my firey LUT Firebird set at LUT Opacity 50% and my cooler pastel LUT Daisy at LUT Opacity 70% this Lucky Color 200 ‘look’ started to take shape. Lucky Color 200 is pretty grainy for a 200 speed film and it’s not the sharpest or got the best exposure latitude, so to match these features, inside my LUMIX camera I’ve set my Grain setting to STD. my i.Dynamic Range to LOW and my Sharpness to -4.

Lucky Color 200 is known for being super vibrant with prominent popping reds and blues, despite sometimes having a green cast in the shadows and magenta in the highlights. Although a daylight balanced film, in-camera I’ve set my White Balance to Auto for flexibility but with a Amber and Magenta push to 4 to tie everything together.
I think I’ve really managed to capture the spirit of this 35mm film with this new ‘look’ for LUMIX JPEGs. If you like the look/sound of it and fancy giving it a go, download the LUTs above, and plug in the settings below.
