Fruit Pastel

A rare Velvia based recipe for you all to enjoy. I like vivid colours in my photographs but have always found Velvia a little too intense, but recently I think I have unlocked the key to shooting with this Film Simulation, enter ‘Fruit Pastel’.

‘Fruit Pastel’ harnesses the vividness of Velvia, throws in a bunch of grain but at the same time lifts the shadows and the result is a light, sweet, fruit coloured, sugar covered recipe with a nice overall pastel tone.

I think ‘Fruit Pastel’ is a pretty good all round recipe. It definitely works better in higher contrast scenes where you want one or two colours to pop out of the shot. See some examples from a recent trip to Amsterdam below…
