Pacific Blues

I have a weird relationship with the Fujifilm Film Simulation Classic Negative, sometimes I love it, some times not so much. There’s something about the Pacific Blues recipe by Ritchie Roesch (FujiXWeekly) however that just works for me. The over saturation, the deep shadows, the high dynamic range, it’s quite a specific look but I think it’s cool.

Check out the original Fujifilm recipe here - https://fujixweekly.com/2022/08/04/fujifilm-x-e4-x-trans-iv-film-simulation-recipe-pacific-blues/

When shooting with this recipe in your LUMIX camera make sure to choose the Fujify Classic Negative LUT with both Color Chrome Effects & Color Chrome FX Blue on Strong. I have my WB setting locked at 5800K with a tint of A4 & G2 and iDymanic Range set to Standard

Obviously there’s no Clarity setting on LUMIX cameras so if you want that minus Clarity you can use a bloom filter or whatever. It’s not the same but something I do is adjust the Contrast slider which my LUMIX cameras does have, to kind of fine tune the recipe to my taste so for Pacific Blues I have it at -2.

Check out a few examples of my LUMIX version of Pacific Blues below…
